I think most of us find it difficult to broach the subject, but I've already started talking to my daughter about her "giny." She's almost 3 and she's just started her first steps to toilet training.
She watches my husband and I go to the toilet, so we've taught her the difference between girls and boys and the importance of wiping from front to back after urinating.
At this age, "giny" talk needs to be simple and age appropriate. I never want my daughter to be embarrassed or afraid to ask us a question.
In this current online world, our children are exposed to images much earlier than my generation ever was. So as far as our parenting goes, she's never too young to learn.
How about you? Do you have open discussions with your child/children? And if so, at what age do you feel it appropriate to start? SJx
